100-degree "Picnic"

Davejoe1f_1Thanks to Dave Roeder and Joe Buriel for hosting our annual member "picnic" and garden tour yesterday. See how gorgeous their garden is? Thankfully their home, equally gorgeous, was also open to us because yesterday was our hottest day of the summer.

Davejoe2f_1Again, see in the center photo how much impact one specimen conifer - in this case a weeping juniper - has in the garden? Magnifique.Davejoe5f_1

From my original site:
Carole G joins in praise of "Dave and Joe for their generosity in sharing their enchanting garden and delightful house. We are so glad you three provided the opportunity for this welcome event. Your leadership is never taken for granted. Garden obsession is a good thing." And Kathy Jentz adds, "Dave and Joe were great hosts and the turn-out was terrific. Thanks for organizing this."
Sandy asked what type of juniper was in the photo and I answered - Tolleson's Weeping Juniper.
